Overview HOT Coffee (How Others Teach) is an informal peer support group which develops learning and teaching knowledge, skills, and builds staff confidence. Formed originally during the COVID-19 pandemic by Northumbria University colleagues in the Business and Law School, this initiative is attributed as a means of ‘evidencing the value of animating communities to engender collaborative bottom-up change’. HOT Coffee provided staff with a regular informal space to share knowledge and experiences, to generate ideas, and to collaboratively problem solve pedagogical issues. The principles and pedagogical development opportunities that have arisen from this initiative are timely and worthy of further exploration in different educational contexts, such as the Nursing, Midwifery and Health (NMH) Department.
