Description

This working group is part of the Global Volunteering Alliance coordinated by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Through the Alliance's network, technical experts from National Societies across the globe have joined forces to look at key challenges and inviting others, from within and outside the movement, to collaboratively assess the challenges and finding sustainable solutions, built on evidence. The objective of the Working Group on Volunteering in Dangerous Situations is to contribute to the prioritisation of safety, security and wellbeing of humanitarian volunteers. Among its main activities, the group has produced reports on the implementation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Resolution on the safety and security of humanitarian volunteers (32IC/15/R5) as well as developed a set of standards for the safety, security and wellbeing of humanitarian volunteers to be implemented in accordance with local contexts.
