‘Class X Class Club’ (Key Stage 1 6-Week Music Programme)

Description of impact

A 6-lesson programme for Key Stage 1 (5-7 year olds) using the idea of ‘catch clubs’­ to encourage children to sing together in simple harmony, as well as create and personalise their own songs.
Designed to be suitable for use by non-music specialist primary teachers – PPTs with embedded videos support the learning and performance of the songs (though scores are provided too).
Aligned with the model music curriculum (in the UK), where song writing also connects to literacy, and there are opportunities to reflect on the value of singing for wellbeing and feeling connected.
