Occupant productivity research cited in a CRC for Low Carbon Living report on tenants and the business case for low-carbon buildings (Jun 2018)

Impact: Environment, Practitioners and professional services

Description of impact

The 2016 review of occupant productivity and office indoor environment quality (Al Horr, Arif, Kaushik and colleagues, 2016) synthesised the evidence on how indoor conditions affect the people in buildings. The Cooperative Research Centre for Low Carbon Living, supported by the Australian Government's Cooperative Research Centres programme, funded "The Tenant's Role in Creating the Business Case for High Performance Low-Carbon Buildings: Systematic Literature Review and Post Occupancy Evaluation". The report was written at Curtin University for the CRC project RP1009, Closing the Loop on Evidence-based Low Carbon Design, and is dated June 2018. The report cites the review for the point that nearby transport, health, childcare and recreation facilities can raise motivation to work for a tenant organisation. The report is held in the CRC research archive at UNSW.
