Picture This: 20 years of Facebook 120 years of photography exhibition incorporating two Take Hold of Your Story evening storytelling events: part of the 2024 national Being Human Festival

Description of impact

Exhibition attended by 407 attendees including over 120 children from 5 schools and one local youth group. Written feedback provided by schools and by attendees at the evening storytelling events confirmed that attendees gained improved understanding of how digital images may be used/misused/manipulated and the need to think carefully before sharing images online. Written feedback from some adult attendees suggests they will change their behaviours as a result. The youth group indicated that as a result of the exhibition visit they are now considering changing their photography policy to ask children for their consent before taking their photographs, even where adult permission has also been granted.
