The Department’s supportive research environment has seen colleagues publishing world-leading research in globally and internationally leading journals across a range of areas including corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and voluntary disclosure, family business, socially sustainable investment, asset management, environmental accounting and reporting, risk reporting and compliance, political risk and finance, socially responsible investment stocks, board composition and diversity, money laundering and asset recovery, criminal finance and fraud.

 

The collective research and engagement profile of our department puts us in a strong position to compete with other accounting and finance departments across leading UK business schools. Consistent with our mission, research is business-focussed and practice-relevant, and drives our academic excellence. The impact from our research on national policy has been significant. Researchers have developed strong working relationships with a range of organisations in particular with the professional accounting bodies and with banks and fund managers operating in the region. The Department is supported by its own Advisory Board drawn from these institutions and bodies.
