Alireza Shafiei is an Associate Lecturer and a PhD Researcher in Leadership and HRM, Faculty of Business and Law at Northumbria University. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). His education includes a DBA from the University of Tehran and a Master's degree in HRM from Azad University.

He has previously worked as an expert in several fields in the public and private sector for several years. Moreover, before starting his PhD in the UK, he taught at Iran universities for several years.

Regarding his research perspective, while respecting the quantitative analysis, he believes that qualitative method is more comprehensive. He argues that although accurate answers can be obtained through quantitative research, this method is limited and analysed based on specific questions, whereas the qualitative approaches can cover more aspects of a gap.

Research interests

His current research interests are employee well-being, job burnout, stress, engagement, and organisational leadership styles.
