Anastasia is a Social Epidemiologist at the Northern Hub for Veterans and Military Families Research in Northumbria University. Her research examines the distribution, patterns, and determinants of physical and mental health in the veterans’ cohort. Anastasia leads and assists with the analysis and interpretation of epidemiological data for the Hub’s research. The primary project Anastasia is currently engaged with is the Map of Need, for which Anastasia leads on the research exploring complex needs of veterans.
Anastasia has got experience in public health, epidemiology, medicine, and clinical trials. Anastasia completed her PhD in health promotion in Northumbria University in 2021. Her PhD research utilised mixed methods to explore the promotion of well-being and physical activity during retirement transition. Anastasia also obtained a medical degree (MBBS) from St Petersburg Pavlov State Medial University (Russia) and an MSc in Public Health (Dist) from London Metropolitan University.
