Andrew Turnbull lectures on various topics related to the Management of Business Information Systems
Andrew joined the University in 2003 after a career developing, managing and implementing Information Systems for engineering and manufacturing organisations in the UK and several other countries.
He has taught a wide variety of topics from Information Systems and Project Management to Professionalism, Consultancy and Relational Databases.
In 2007 he took over the Programme Leadership of the IT Management for Business degree (ITMB). This was a pilot of a new type of degree developed collaboratively between Industry and Academia. Andrew has managed the growth and development of this degree from an initial cohort of six to an annual intake of 40-60 with high student satisfaction and an enviable record of placements and graduate employability.
He has a track record of liaison with graduate employers and is responsible for the embedding both SAP ERP and SAS BI systems into the teaching curriculum. He has been coordinator for a validated IT Management programme at Seoul National University of Technology in South Korea.
After 12 years leading the ITMB and other undergraduate programmes in the Business Information Systems subject area he has passed leadership of the programmes on in order to release time to pursue part-time Doctoral Studies.
