Biography

Bethany A’Court is a Solicitor Tutor within the Student Law Office. The law clinic offers legal advice and assistance to members of the public on a pro bono basis and she supervises students working on criminal cases. In addition to this, Bethany teaches on the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship, a professional programme jointly delivered by police officers from Northumbria Police and academic staff from Northumbria University.

Bethany also provides guidance and supervision for students completing their dissertations, is a personal tutor to a number of students and is the Deputy Programme Leader for the Legal Practice Course.

Bethany graduated from the MLaw (Exempting) course in June 2014 at Northumbria University. She worked at a firm in the South West, which specialises in Criminal Law, and qualified in 2018.

Bethany’s current research interests involve police training, youth justice and clinical legal education.
