Clare joined the physiotherapy team at Northumbria University in 2018. Over the course of her clinical career, Clare has specialised in cardiorespiratory and critical care physiotherapy. She has a particular interest in improving outcomes for patients following critical illness. In addition to her role at the university, Clare works part-time in the NHS as an Advanced Physiotherapist. She sits on the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care (ACPRC) Editorial Board, and is a former elected member of the Physiotherapists' Professional Advisory Group for the Intensive Care Society (ICS).
Clare's doctoral research, ACTIVE-ICU, explores the culture of rehabilitation in intensive care units through group concept mapping and focused ethnography.
