Research interests

Darryl is a member of the Centre for International Development. He is an interdisciplinary scholar with research interests in NGOs in India (including how they learn, construct work and change over time); how transformative encounters shape people’s experience of themselves and others; the changing role of ethnography and visual research methods; and the application of social research methods in practice settings.

More recently Darryl has been involved in a pilot research project that seeks to understand the ways in which pilgrimage based encounters challenge and change the lives and outlooks of those who walk for religious and non-religious reasons.

Darryl is interested in exploring research collaborations around any of the themes above, please contact him directly to discuss opportunities.
