Research interests

Dr Branley-Bell is specialises is research around online communication and support, remote healthcare, eating disorders, self-harm, and the use of tech for health-related interventions. Other interests include exploring the positive side of internet usage, cybersecurity, and behaviour change.

Dr Branley-Bell is currently leading the RHED-C project (Remote Healthcare for Eating Disorders throughout COVID-19): https://research.northumbria.ac.uk/rhedc/

She is also an Innovation Fellow at the Centre for Digital Citizens.

Biography

Dr Branley-Bell is a chartered psychologist (cPsychol.) and Medical Research Foundation Fellow specialising in cyberpsychology and remote healthcare. She is Chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Cyberpsychology Section. Her research interests include internet/social media use, health and wellbeing, and online behaviour. She has a keen interest in online communication around eating disorders, and self-harm, and the use of tech for health-related interventions. Other interests include exploring the positive side of internet usage, cybersecurity, and behaviour change.
