Biography

Dr. Zingre's research focuses on decarbonisation of built environment using cool materials and bio-inspired designs, and employs experimental methods (measurements, thermography, laser scanning) and computational simulations (EnergyPlus, ENVI-MET and CFD).

International impact of Zingre's work includes: i) Development of novel heat transfer models and thermal comfort analysis for pedestrians in street canyons (5 first authored articles in Energy and Renewable Energy with IF: 9.0), ii) Contribution to the housing policies of Singapore (for cooling the city by 2oC), California’s Title 24 and India’s GRIHA building standards, and iii) Appointment as ‘international mentor’ to ACIC-Kalasalingam Innovation Foundation, India and editorial boards of Buildings and Atmosphere journals.

National impact includes: i) Working with National Trust of the UK on achieving their sustainability goals for Coleshill and Cambo villages, ii) Carrying out energy assessment of Newcastle City Council schools, and iii) Contribution towards development of North of Tyne Combined Authority’s Green Growth Skills programme (£463k funding, and an article in Energy and Buildings journal with IF: 6.7) which will have a real-world impact for Northeast in terms of: a) skills development, b) job creations and c) achieve central government’s sustainability goals.

University level impact includes: submission of four (3*) outputs to REF2021, assisting Carbon managers to decarbonise the city campus buildings by diagnosing various building defects (e.g., air leakage through windows, walls, floors, thermal bridges, etc) and providing recommendations on energy conservation measures & renewable energy technologies.
