Research interests

Dr Matthew Pointon is Senior Lecturer within the Department of Computer Information Sciences and currently delivers a range of modules around HCI on under and postgraduate programmes. Prior to this Matthew has been a programme leader for several degree programmes within Computing, Information Science and Creative Media. Matthew has also worked as a consultant liaising within instructional designers developing materials, implementing new pedagogies with a focus on information standards and accessibility conforming to equality and inclusion polices. As the lead academic Matthew worked with the University Enterprise team designing HCI/UX laboratory, this lab supports enterprise and consultancy within the department and University and the lab is used as a base to support regional industries. In 2017 Matthew completed his Professional Doctorate which has supported his research profile (publications list can be found at: https://scholar.google.co.uk/citations?user=64u_dKwAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=sra). He has continued his engagement with industry and created new collaborative research opportunities within the IS, HCI and IR field which have formulised several grant submissions.
