Biography

Nancy Dieu-Ngoc Nguyen is currently pursuing her PhD in Applied Linguistics at Northumbria University, UK. Her research focuses on Virtual Exchange and Global Citizenship Education. Prior to her studies at Northumbria University, Nancy spent 8 years teaching English at various universities in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Passionate about global learning, she strives to bring the world into her classroom by creating authentic opportunities for students to use language meaningfully and develop intercultural competence. Nancy employs project-based learning and integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into her teaching to inspire students to think globally, act locally, and grow into responsible global citizens.

Nancy has actively contributed to the university community as a Postgraduate Research Representative for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) during 2023–2024. She currently serves as Editor-In-Chief for the conference proceedings of the 15th Newcastle & Northumbria Postgraduate Conference in Language and Linguistics (NNPCiLL).
