Neeranjan Chitare is presently a researcher pursuing his PhD at School of Computer and Information Sciences. He has been awarded a Studentship in 2020 to undertake a programme of research under the direction of a supervision team that include Dr James Nicholson, in the Faculty of Engineering and Environment.
Currently he is aiming to analyse the dyadic communication via email in an organisation in order to understand the visual and social cues that employees use for identifying genuine messages, and the various responses that are carried out following the identification.
Prior to this he was working as Head, R&D and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India. He has pursued Master of Technology in Information Systems and Management from International School of Information Management, Mysore, India. He has 10 years of academic and Industry experience. During this tenure, he has been involved in the teaching and research prominently for Information & Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Data Communication. Additionally has been also active in arranging funded Faculty Development Program as a convener and signing Memorandum of Understanding with IT companies for the benefit of students. He was International Scientific Committee Member ICESEE2017, Beijing, China January 15-16, 2017. He has presented an academic paper to the prestigious and very first 'World Wide Web: Technology, Standards & Internationalisation Conference 6-7 May,2010 New Delhi, India. He is a designated technical reviewer for three international journals and an international conference. He is the recipient of Best Manuscript Award for International Conference, Best faculty Award and Best Odyssian Award by Ministry of Human Resource and Development Initiative, India. Other academic responsibilities include Academic Advisor-National Cyber Safety and Security Standards (NCSSS), India and Nodal Coordinator-Virtual Labs IIT - Mumbai, India.
Other areas of research include Cyber Security- Human Centric Approach, Spear Phishing, Business Email Compromise, Knowledge Management (Knowledge Economy and Information Society) Artificial Intelligence and e-governance.
