Biography

Pam is Faculty Director of Access and Participation at Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University. She has worked in a variety of roles within business education for many years as both a practitioner and as an examiner. Prior to working in higher education, she worked in sales and marketing for a number of years and also was Head of Business and Economic Studies at secondary level.  

Pam’s research interests include Business Education pedagogy, student expectations, transition, psychological contracts and experiential learning. She recently designed and introduced a new year-long experiential learning module for all first year students at Newcastle Business School. She is also part of a small team of academics at NBS who have recently introduced a peer-assisted learning scheme (PALS) specifically aimed to enhance student ‘belongingness’ across our full-time undergraduate Business School programmes and to support transition across the student life cycle.

Pam is a senior Fellow of the HEA and an external examiner.
