Biography
Rachael is a Graduate Tutor in the department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, working within the Sport Development team.
Before joining Sport Development in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Rachael worked within Northumbria Sport as a Sport Services Assistant. In this role Rachael gained valuable sport industry experience for a number of years, where her primary focus was to offer logistical support to the University’s BUCS teams and support services. Rachael has now turned her focus back to academics, recently gaining Associate Fellowship status from the HEAcademy and currently undergoing her PhD studies.
Research interests
Rachael’s PhD focuses on the dual careers of student-para-athletes. She is particularly interested in exploring the impact of role conflict and how this cohort of elite individuals negotiate their way through their higher education journey.
