Biography
Rashid Javed holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour, France. He has previously served at Éklore-Ed School of Management and the University of Westminster, Tashkent Campus.
His research lies in the fields of Development Economics and Demographic Economics. His current work focuses on the interactions between socioeconomic and demographic factors, including son preference, delayed fertility decisions, gender bias in child human capital, marriage patterns, and women’s participation in household decision-making.
He has presented his research at major international conferences, including the American Economic Association Conference (AEA), the Canadian Economic Association Conference (CEA), the French Economic Association Conference (AFSE), the European Society for Population Economics Conference (ESPE), the British Society for Population Studies Conference (BSPS), the Nordic Conference on Development Economics (NCDE), and the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population Conference (IUSSP). His research has also been featured in national media, including The Express Tribune, as well as in academic blogs and magazines such as the London School of Economics (LSE) blogs, the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) magazine, and the Forum for Uzbek and Silk Road Studies (FUSRS).
He is a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO), an Associate Researcher at TREE, University of Pau, and a Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy).
