Personal profile

Biography

I am a doctoral researcher at Northumbria School of Design, currently working on things about design theory. My research interests are around and in-between the notions of cyborg, embodiment, power, and epistemology. My PhD is exploring some of these ideas through exploring how knowledge is generated in research through design projects. I am trained as an industrial and interaction designer, worked in advertising and design management in Turkey, Denmark and Sweden. I can be found contemplating, storytelling, reading (mostly non-fiction), cooking, or walking around aimlessly if not juggling with ideas.

Research interests

I am fascinated by the notion of demarcation. In studying what design is and does, I like to explore the boundaries of design - or lack thereof. I'm currently "probing into research through design" by investigating the practices and narratives around (design) Probes in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
