Seyed Ehsan Ahmadi is a PhD candidate in Marketing, Operations, and Systems at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, UK. He holds BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from the University of Kurdistan, Iran, graduating first in his class in both programmes. He previously worked as a Research Collaborator with the Electrical Power and Control Systems Research Group at Northumbria University and completed an international exchange at FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences, Austria, specialising in Energy and Transport Management.

His research focuses on system-level modelling, optimisation, and strategic planning of low-carbon energy infrastructure. He develops stochastic and data-driven optimisation frameworks for power system planning and operation, renewable energy integration, energy storage allocation, and sector-coupled multi-energy systems.

His work has been published in leading international journals, including Applied Energy, Energy, Electric Power Systems Research, Sustainable Cities and Society, Journal of Energy Storage, International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, and Sustainable Energy, Grids and Networks. He has also contributed to book chapters on smart grid technologies and energy systems.

Ehsan is experienced in mathematical modelling and simulation using GAMS and MATLAB. He has supported undergraduate teaching in Electrical Engineering and serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals in energy systems and power engineering.
