Biography

Dr Shaun Shen (publish as Xiang Shen) received the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 from Queen Mary University of London in the UK and the MEng degree in Fluid Mechanics from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China. He was a visiting scholar at Tohoku University in Japan in 2008 and 2009.

Shaun joined Northumbria University as a lecturer in 2020, after working in an industrial research institute as a design engineer and then conducting aerodynamic & thermal management research in Prof. Barrie Mecrow's team in Newcastle University as a research associate. 

As an applied aerodynamic specialist, his fields of expertise are Aerodynamic and Thermal Design, Flow Control CFD Simulation, Wind Tunnel Testing and Multidisciplinary Optimisation.
