Research interests

An experienced industrial design practitioner, academic and researcher based at Northumbria University. His research and expertise is centred around on how design can help develop new tools and techniques to open up new opportunities within the global Curricular Economy.

A student of The University of Glasgow and The Glasgow School of Art, he developed his practice by working for a number of global companies before setting up his own product and industrial design consultancy working with a varied client base developing consumer, sports and healthcare products.

Over the years he have also been involved in a number of spin out companies taking his own products to market, from initial conception through to production, and the creation and development of the associated Intellectual Property. In 2009 he combined his commercial practice with a lecturing role on the Design for Industry (BA Hons) course based at the School of Design lecturing in industrial and product design.
