Dr Thomas Jones holds a PhD in Sports Physiology from Northumbria University and is accredited as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sports Scientist with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). Dr Jones has held numerous roles in high performance sport including: Strength and Conditioning Coach, Sports Physiologist and Data Analyst. Dr Jones has worked with a range of sports including; football, boxing, cross country skiing, biathlon, track and field, racket sports, rugby union, swimming and cricket.
Dr Jones is programme lead for the MSc in Strength and Conditioning at Northumbria University. Additionally, Dr Jones provides sports science support to Newcastle United Football Club Academy. Dr Jones also maintains research collaborations with the Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre, Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club and Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence.
