CIB Best Doctoral Dissertation Award 2025- Runner Up

Akila Rathnasinghe was awarded Runner-Up in the prestigious CIB Best Doctoral Dissertation Award 2025. Organised by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB), this award recognises outstanding doctoral research that advances knowledge and practice in the global built environment sector.

The dissertation, An Integrated Whole-Life Solution for Modular Housing in the United Kingdom: A Platform-Based Ecosystem Narrative, was presented to an international panel of judges appointed by the CIB and recognised among the top doctoral contributions in the built environment field. This achievement reflects the quality and impact of the doctoral research undertaken at Northumbria University and its relevance to contemporary challenges facing the construction industry.
