Abstract
A Gift for Djakovo was a new performance work created for the Dionysus International Theatre Festival, Croatia. Exploring pre-conceptions of British theatre (and its histories) as well as parodying the current 'fame' culture that dominates in the UK, the performance was a playful interrogation of young British identity and what it might mean to 'perform', especially in a culture that was not your own. I worked as co-director/deviser on the performance alongside colleague at Leeds Metropolitan University, Teresa Brayshaw.
