Abstract

On the basis of a detailed analysis of the grade-consistent micropolar model for a granular solid medium, equations for the propagation of weak nonlinear waves have been developed. The high-frequency oscillation mode is associated with ultrasonic waves, the low-frequency one relates to common seismic waves in rocks. On the basis of asymptotic consideration, evolutionary equations have been obtained, including for the case of LW-SW resonance. The latter corresponds to the generation of ultrasound (noise) by passing seismic waves.
