Abstract

Discusses Pease v Carter (CA) on whether an error in the date on notices of possession proceedings rendered them invalid, highlighting the court's approach to whether the "reasonable recipient" test applied to such notices. Reviews Trecarrell House Ltd v Rouncefield (CA) on whether a landlord's failure to provide a gas safety certificate at the start of a tenancy prevented it from later serving an eviction notice under the Housing Act 1988 s.21.
