    Abstract

To realize complex surface smooth seamless splicing, a new texture algorithm of improved mosaic by intelligent controlling and subdivision (IMIS) was developed. With advantages of mosaic in tiles arrangement and subdivision in freeform surface shaping, the designed features of aesthetical or functional surface were kept in manufacture model under optimum quality controlling. Stability and reliability of this algorithm were proved by an example trading in the self-developed software in Visual C++.
