A Proposal To Ask Where Does A Threshold Begin & End 

'A Proposal To Ask Where Does A Threshold Begin & End' is a re-configuration of a work of the same title originally exhibited at MIMA in Middlesbrough in 2017. The opportunity to re-visit this work was it's aquisition for the MIMA collection and subsequent inclusion in the exhibition 'The Secret Lives of Bottle of Notes: Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen' in 2025. The re-configuration needed to consider how an original large scale, temporary, context-specific artwork could exist after the original event. Components from the original artwork were re-worked, such as the particular framing of a sequence of photographs and the original maquette for the project. In addition a poster was produced (from a design by Bob Linney) which un-settled a straight-forward linear and aesthetic reading of the artwork.
