Abstract

The 2023 UK Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) exercise highlighted the importance of professional skills in their destination and progression metrics. This interactive presentation provides a work-in-progress report for the QAA Collaborative Enhancement Project exploring the learner-earner journey and bridging the digital skills gap: Graduate and employer viewpoints. The project is supported and funded by QAA Membership. The project is led by Northumbria University in partnership with Abertay University, Cardiff University, London Metropolitan University, University of Bath, University of Huddersfield, Ulster and Warwick University. Find out more about Collaborative Enhancement Projects on the QAA website. The focus is on employer and graduate viewpoints to co-create an understanding of: 1) the learner-earner journey 2) technical and professional skill gaps exhibited by graduates 3) effective mechanisms that address these issues. The project will be completed in June 2025, so it is timely to share current progress and emerging findings.
