Abstract
"The diagrammatic or abstract machine does not function to represent, even something real, but rather constructs a real that is yet to come, a new type of reality."
- Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus (NY: Continuum, 2004), 157.
By loosely appropriating the coded visual vocabularies and organizational syntaxes of both spiritual and scientific traditions, filtered through the intensive membranes of nomadic lines and patterned deterritorializations, these manifestations of abstract machines provide for a metacritical exploration of the various regimes of signs that order our collective understanding and experience of ontological existence.
