Abstract
Spectrum sensing plays an important role in cognitive radios, of which a feasible method that fulfills both detection agility and users’ mobility requirement remains unknown. In this paper, we identify the trend that mobility of cognitive users should be considered in near future and propose using Ultra Wide Band (UWB) positioning system to fulfill mobility requirements and high-precision radiolocation. Most important of all, for multiple users in cognitive network, associated with smart antenna communication system approach, we present adaptive cooperation algorithm to accelerate the process of searching optimal relay user and to reduce detection time. Additionally, we simulate our algorithm by using network simulation platform and make comparisons with existing cooperative spectrum sensing technique based on grouping users into pairs. Finally, we conclude with several open research issues of this new algorithm.
