Abstract

In the field of channel estimation where no training sequences are available, code concatenation is a key technique for good performance, especially when antenna arrays are used at the transmitter and the receiver. In this paper a widespread class of codes designed for multiple antennas, called space-time codes (STC) are concatenated with low- density parity check (LDPC) codes and turbo codes. We show that by using these powerful coding schemes intelligently, a substantial performance improvement is achieved at a reasonable complexity.
