Abstract

The comprehensive analysis of these more than 100 student-generated book reviews unveils a dynamic evolution in architectural and urban discourse over more than six decades. We have uncovered a rich web of theoretical and practical shifts by systematic comparative analysis of themes—from the personal, phenomenological insights of the 1950s to the digital, sustainability-driven concerns of the 2010s. These reviews capture the changing contours of cultural and behavioural studies within architecture and urbanism and serve as a reflective lens on broader societal transformations. As we transition to our concluding remarks, we synthesise these insights, highlighting how the interplay of diverse perspectives has redefined our understanding of the built environment and paved the way for future innovations in architectural and urban design.
