Abstract

Gait assessment holds crucial significance in understanding the complexities of movement patterns, especially in the context of Parkinson's disease (PD). Its utility extends to the early diagnosis and continual monitoring of people with PD (PwPD). In recent years, research focus has intensified on employing inertial measurement units (IMUs) for gait analysis within the daily living of healthy individuals and PwPD. IMUs, with their capability to capture acceleration and angular velocity, play a pivotal role in recording subtle changes in gait dynamics, offering insights into the progression of PD and its impact on locomotion.
