Abstract
The lecture examines Common Culture's recent art projects in terms of their use of comic engagement as a form of critical inquiry. Campbell examines Common Culture' attraction to everyday rituals of commodity consumption governing social experience and the group's use of humour as a means to meddle with habitual patterns of reception, to fashion new, and often unsettling encounters with popular culture.
