Abstract

This DRS conversation connected researchers, educators, and practitioners who want to contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between design and change. We invited Jeanne Ledkta as a special guest to expand the conversation. We discussed the scales and scope of designing change, designers of change, and change theories in design. We brought up diverse perspectives such as behavior change, service design, strategic design, systemic design, organizational design, design for social innovation, and transition design. While more conversations are needed to consolidate these concepts and the Designing Change SIG’s direction, the insights gained from this conversation provided a solid foundation.
