Abstract
In this paper the parameters of the coupling between the feed and the slot and, between the slot and the antenna are determined and then used in the equivalent circuit to design the antenna. A good agreement is obtained between the predicted results based on the equivalent circuitand the results obtained from the software based electromagnetic simulation. Finally a single feed cross slot circular polarised antenna is designed using an equivalent circuit, modelled using electromagnetic simulation and practically tested. A good agreement between the three results is obtained.
