Abstract

Lithium-Ion batteries require special charging methods that must adhere to the power restrictions of the battery cells. This paper illustrates simulation evaluations of a PI controllerbased battery system using MATLAB/Simulink software packages. A CC-CV battery charging method is employed and the corresponding current, voltage as well as SoC are examined. A switching system is also introduced in the simulation which enables the battery to transition from charging to discharging mode.
