Abstract

The scope of this research is:
- to establish guidelines in terms of environmental conditions (RH and T ) for the display and storage of collagen-containing cultural heritage objects and when they are transferred to other locations. Currently extended to include archaeological bones
- to develop damage assessment protocols for improved preservation of historical documents and bookbinding
- to include the data in a decision support model [English Heritage web site for use by conservators and conservation scientists https://www.englishheritage.org.uk/learn/conservation/collections-advice-and-guidance/] (undermanagement of showcases).
