Abstract
Dr. Alison Pearce was one of the first Erasmus exchange students in 1987 and then organised an Erasmus-funded staff exchange in 2009, 22 years later. Here she tells the story and analyses the effect of her experience on her life and career. Alison is today responsible for driving the student mobility at Northumbria university which has grown tenfold in the 6 years of her management.
