Abstract
A solo exhibition of newly commissioned work by The Newbridge Project. ERROR_GRACEFUL_DISCONNECT explored ‘the loop’ in digital technology; examining the ways we receive and digest information through digital reproductions. Our online world is characterized by repetition; from GIFs, vines, memes, instant replays and samples, a culture that saturates and bombards the senses, providing no option other than to consume everything ‘all at once’. This immersive installation reflected our sensory engagement with the digital world. Audio & Visual material appropriated from animation and video footage was looped, collaged and programmed to reflect how we interact with the invisible sub-structure of data that permeates our lives.
