Eternity: The Lessing Montages: Four mixed-media artworks

The series explores the tension between the clear form and message of pictures and words, cut-out from books and magazines, and the informal gesture of painting. This opposition re-compose the dichotomy expressed by Lessing: the elements of space are expressed in painting (image), while the temporal dimension is represented in poetry (text). The ambiguity of this layering also needs the active participation and interpretation of the spectator, according to Eco’s definition of “open work”.
