Abstract

The Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) commenced in Gateshead in November 2014 with assistance from Northumbria Police and funding from the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner (NPCC). Additional funding was received circa. September 2015 from a successful joint bid to the Home Office Innovation Fund. This additional funding enabled the team to develop further, to focus upon serial victims of domestic abuse and to recruit partner agencies into the project to assist – this included mental health services, substance misuse, social worker, a business manager and a project support worker to support the management of the team. The results are confidential to the authors and Northumbria Police.
