Abstract

Technology-facilitated intimate partner violence (IPV) harms victims’ privacy, security, and mental health. A study of the U.S. general population found that perceived acceptability, legality, and victim responsibility are shaped by demographics, gender beliefs, and attitudes toward traditional IPV. Results highlight the need to address awareness, misconceptions, and response.
