    Abstract

    This chapter offers some conclusive remarks about the volume Folk Devils and moral panics in the COVID-19 pandemic which analyzes moral panic episodes that appeared during the exceptional conjunctural situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic. By drawing on the studies presented in each chapter, this conclusive chapter points out the ongoing relevance of the moral panic concept, and the need for analysis able to consider the exceptional complexity of the moral panics ignited during such conjuncture. Furthermore, it critically delineates theoretical and methodological aspects emerging from the chapters' analyses thus contributing to the advancement of moral panic studies. Finally, this chapter discusses the limits of the research studies presented in this volume and new paths and challenges for future research.
