Geography Compass: Introductory editorial

This issue marks the launch of a new Geography Compass historical geography section. It is a great pleasure that Geography Compass has taken this step and we are hopeful that it will provide a further outlet for historical geographers and that this will also further establish the well‐developed research sub‐field. Here, in this introductory editorial, I briefly map out our intentions for the section.
