Abstract
As part of the National Institute of Healthcare Research (NIHR) major review of staff engagement within the NHS, the NIHR has produced a series of publications on key issues of staff engagement. The Guide to Engagement in the NHS is aimed at HR leaders and examines the role they play in developing approaches to staff engagement.
The National Institute for Healthcare (NIHR) commissioned IES in partnership with Kent Business School, Warwick Business School and the University of Tilburg, to conduct a review of the evidence on Staff Engagement within the NHS. The project resulted in a series of publications, all hosted on the NIHR website.
The aim of this guide is to inform HR professionals about engagement: what it is, why it matters, what makes it happen, and above all what this means for those in an HR role. It focuses on the actions HR should take to foster and sustain engagement levels throughout your organisation.
